July is coming to a close, which can only mean NFL and CFB games are on the horizon. That’s right… there is an NFL game to be played Thursday night in Canton, OH.

While we are still weeks away from the games actually mattering, we have initial thoughts on the 2025 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award as well as MLB and WNBA data and, of course, and entire PGA Tour card for the regular season finale in North Carolina.

PGA Tour Closes Out Regular Season in Greensboro

The final event of the PGA Tour’s regular season begins Thursday in North Carolina with the Wyndham Championship. Following Sunday, the Top 70 in the FedExCup standings will move on to the 3-event playoff.

That opens up a bunch of narratives to play in terms of handicapping but don’t overthink it. Long time golf writer and golf bettor Jason Sobel pointed out in his column this week that that last year, exactly zero golfers moved inside the top 70 in the final event in Greensboro and only one player did it in 2023. That was Lucas Glover, who had to win the title to move up from 112th.

So, while there might be some golfers to look at in some live spots over the weekend, I wouldn’t make the betting narrative all about that.

So who do we like?

Ben Griffin to Win (+2800); Top-10 finish (+275)

One of the hottest golfers from April to June, Griffin reeled off six straight top 15s and had two wins over a 9-event span before missing the cut at the John Deere Classic and Open Championship. With a week off last week for some much needed rest, Griffin enters one of the top golfers in the field, ranked 4th in the field in Shots Gained: Approach over the last six events, 14th in SG: total and 31st Tee-to-Green.

Sedgefield CC is definitely up there in terms of using course history and Griffin has that as well, finishing T-4th here in 2022 and T-7th here last season.

Now while I won’t but too much stock into the Top 70 narrative, I will play into the Ryder Cup one, where Griffin is 9th in the standings, just outside the automatic spots. I would not be surprised to see a 3rd win of the season out of him this week.
