Game 2: Philadelphia 76ers at New York Knicks (-7.5, 212.5)
Karl-Anthony Towns assists over 4.5 (+113)
Ok, so on Monday, we said we were going to keep taking KAT over 3.5 assists until they moved it. The books finally moved it, but they are still hedging as we are getting plus money on over 4.5. I still like it, even with the move, because we are getting plus money. Without the plus money, I would hesitate.
In addition to averaging 18.7 PPG and 11.3 rebounds in the 6 games vs. the Hawks, KAT became a playmaker, averaging 6.0 assists over the six games. He added 6 more assists in Monday’s Game 1 vs. the 76ers, in only 20 minutes, not playing most of the second half of the blowout.
He's had 6+ assists in each of the last four postseason games. The tricky part? He went 4-2-4 in the first three postseason games vs. the Hawks. But remember, that’s when the Knicks were playing bad, and lost two of the three games. The Knicks we have seen stream roll Atlanta in the final 3 games and Philly in Game 1 has led to 10-6-10-6, or 32 assists in 4 games (8.0 per game)
And it's not just in the Hawks series. He averaged 6.5 assists per game in the final four games of the regular season. Add it all up, and you get 5.6 a game over the last 11 games (the start of April), going over 4.5 in 7 of the 11 games. That’s 63.6% of the time, and we are getting plus money, with implied probability of 47%
The assist chances are there, as he's got 6.8 assist chances a game vs. the Hawks and over 6.5 chances per game dating back to April 1.
