Let’s get to it!

Ravens-Dolphins on Thursday Night Football

Baltimore Ravens (-7.5, 51.5) at Miami Dolphins

I will be in attendance on Thursday night in Miami, just like I was three weeks ago with the Giants, as 7.5 point dogs, upset the Eagles. Does that mean it happens again? Probably not, since I am not bringing my son, who is 4-0 in Dolphins games.

I do think the Dolphins can keep this close with the changes they made on offense last week vs. the Falcons. But the Falcons were ill prepared, and you know John Harbaugh will have his Ravens prepared.

Lamar is back, which will certainly help. The Ravens are averaging 32.8 points per game in the four games Jackson started, vs. 14.3 in the games he is out. Not rocket science here.

I lean towards taking the Dolphins plus the 7.5 at home. but like we like to do in primetime games, let’s go to the prop market!

Jaylen Waddle over 63.5 receiving yards (FanDuel and DraftKings)

Betting on anything with the Dolphins offense is always risky with other teams making adjustments to Mike McDaniel’s play calls. However, one thing has been consistent lately and that’s Tua looking for Waddle or Achane to throw to.

Since the injury to Tyreek Hill in Week 4, and taking Week 7 game vs. Cleveland out since it was a disaster all the way around, Achane and Waddle have combined for 32 of Tua’s 68 completions (47 pct). Last week, in the first game without both Hill and Waller, Achane and Waddle combined for 10 catches on 13 targets.

Achane’s receptions was considered in this spot, but the number is 5.5, so he would need 6. The Ravens gave up 5+ catches to RBs in each of the first three games, but have tightened down since. Achane will probably still get 4-6 catches, but the line is too high.

When looking at Waddle, I’d rather go over his yards prop than hope for the right about of catches. He showed his explosiveness last week in taking one to the house. Waddle has reached 90+ receiving yards in three of the four games Hill has missed, with the lone exception being that Cleveland game, where nothing worked for Miami.

Against a soft Ravens defense that is allowing 250.7 passing yards per game (28th in NFL), I expect Waddle to get over 63.5. Oduzne had 114 yards last week for the Bears in this spot.
